Welcome to Sirius Pet Care! I'm Mickey Borders, owner of Sirius Pet Care... I'm the ugly one on the right, on our home page!

While working in sales with lots of traveling, I found that finding a place for my pets to stay was stressful for them and me. Kennels were not appealing because of the possibility of illness, injury and lack of personal attention, along with the inconvenience of dropping off and picking up my pets. Friends and family sometimes would help but it was a burden for them and I usually had to bring my pets to them. I deciding to use a professional pet sitter after reading research that most pets are happier, healthier, more relaxed, and well-behaved staying in a familiar environment.

I had a difficult time finding a qualified, reliable, professional pet sitter that I was comfortable with. That’s when I decided to use my ability to bond with animals to provide the service I had been looking for!

I grew up with dogs and cats, along with fish and assorted other pets. I have always had animals in my house and feel that they are part of the family. In addition to spoiling my dog Tasha, I enjoy camping, fly fishing, and playing drums.

All Sirius Pet Care pet sitters are mature, responsible pet owners . We have well over 100 years of combined pet care experience. We don’t discriminate against any breed, age, or medical condition. We love, respect, and care for your pets as we do our own.

Meet our Associate Pet Sitters!

Casey loves animals down to her DNA. She was born into a house full of them: guinea pigs, rabbits, dogs, cats, fish. She moved out to Brighton with her family when she was 6 years old and resides there still. Over the years her love for animals has grown to incredible depths. The phrase “Can we keep them?” became quite common in her household. She has seen her share of four-legged’s from hamsters to horses, geese and ducks, goats to bunnies, and, of course the unique ensemble of fish, kitties, and dogs.

Along with her critters, Casey is currently in pursuit of her other passion: writing and theatre. She’ll be picking up school again in Spring 2011 for journalism and is very excited. She plans journalism as her stepping stone to the Big Apple for theatre. Her “day job” is at The Bagel Bakery in Thornton where she spends hours getting to decorate delicious creations. Casey is available to go just about any where your critters stays, including Westminster, Thornton, Superior, Wheat Ridge, Golden, Denver, Broomfield and Northglenn, and she’s elated to be a part of Sirius Pet Care!

On any given day you will find Casey spending time with her critters – three dogs, four kitties, and numerous fish and her sister She also enjoys listening to great music. She is Melanie's (below) daughter, and often they team up to give your animals twice the attention!

She is patient, kind, and extremely loving for any and every critter and has been with Sirius for over a year doing dog walks, vacation pet visits, as well as overnights.

Pet Sitter with Dogs in Thornton, Colorado Patti started pet sitting and dog walking for Sirius Pet Care shortly after she hired them to walk her two dogs after an unfortunate roller skating accident! She absolutely loves animals and knows the importance of peace of mind for pet owners when they have to leave their beloved animals behind.

Patti was born and raised in Washington State and has been in Colorado for two years. She's lived on a 15 acre farm which had chickens, cows, ducks, rabbits, horses, cats and of course dogs. As a child she belonged to 4H as well as a riding club that had gaming days and camping trips.

Patti has one dog Hailey, 13, after unfortunately losing Reno recently, who was 14. She's had them since they were puppies. Patti and her husband live in Thornton and she pet sits in the Westminster, Northglenn, and Broomfield area as well. She is extremely comfortable with all types of pets... big to small, she loves them all! Patti has been pet sitting and dog walking for Sirius for over 2 years.

Aside from pet sitting, Patti enjoys fishing, boating, bbq's, and most anything that involves the outdoors and her dog!

Melanie has been an animal lover ever since she can remember and can’t imagine life without them. Over her life she has raised just about every pet imaginable from dogs and cats, to guinea pigs, parakeets, turtles, geese, ducks, several aquariums, and horses, just to name a few. She worked for five years with horse trainer/breeders who also raised ranch dogs and Newfoundland’s.
Pet Sitter in Wheat Ridge, CO

Melanie is always looking to challenge herself and along with pet sitting, she is currently a part time college student going for her phlebotomy certification. She lost her beloved dog "Mr. Elvis" to cancer recently, but enjoys her horses and her new found passion… bee keeping!

Melanie is the mother of four grown children, (including Casey) and one adorable grandson. She lives in Wheat Ridge but her "normal" job takes her to Broomfield, which allows her to provide pet visits to most of our service area, including Westminster, Arvada, Superior, Golden, and North Denver.

Melanie has been with Sirius for almost 2 years. She is very intuitive and caring, and often makes visits for especially sensitive pets. In addition to dog walks, vacation pet visits, and overnights, Melanie also does horse care. Please inquire for rates and availability.

In her spare time you will find Melanie with her horses and bees, as well as listening to all types of music. She is extremely reliable and conscience, and will treat all your pets with kindness and respect.

Jenn is a lover of all animals from cute and furry to scaly and slithery. Starting with a hermit crab as her first pet as a child, she worked up to a hamster, a rabbit and finally a kitten. She worked for 10 years as an educator at the Museum of Science, Boston where she learned to handle and teach with dozens of animals in their Live Animal Center.

Jenn and her husband currently own two cats (Ninja and Ronin). Ninja was adopted in 2003 when they went to a shelter looking for a dog and instead fell in love with an adorable bug eyed kitten. In 2009 the couple moved to their own place after sharing a house with friends who had several other cats. Ninja was lonely for other cats to play with, so they promptly adopted Ronin as Ninja’s pet kitten.

Last year the whole family moved from Massachusetts to Broomfield, CO. Jenn now handles several invertebrates as an educator for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Having majored in geology and minored in astronomy, Jenn loves living next to the Rocky Mountains with the huge Colorado skies.

Jenn got involved with Sirius Pet Care after hiring them to watch her cats while she and her husband were on vacation. She was so impressed with the service that she asked to join the team. Jenn was quickly dubbed the “The Cat Whisperer” for her ability to bond with especially shy kitties. She's also extremely good at handling dogs of all sizes, due to many friends and family dog owners. She has walked and cared all of Sirius Pet Care "regulars", as well as many vacation clients.

Jenn's schedule allows her to do overnights, dog walking, and pet sitting in most of Sirius Pet Care's service area, including Northglenn, Broomfield, Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Superior, Thornton, and Westminster, Colorado.
